September Twins
By Ellen Younkins
It's September, my favorite time of the year.
Perhaps it's because it's when I first did appear.
Born on September fifteen, to my parent's surprise
a brother was with me, but a bit bigger in size.
We shared classes and friends right from the start
then we took different directions and drifted apart.
Our memories linger now, as we grow old
with stories still in our minds, some yet to be told.
We share laughter and love with family and friends
and joy and sorrow with life's beginnings and ends.
With each new generation, as they grow old
let their memories linger on and their stories be told.

You're lucky to have a built in friend. Nice poem.
Being a twin is a special treat.
