Liquids for Your Life

- Milk suckled from mother’s breast
- Milk poured from a glass bottle
- Kool-aid stands in summer
- Hot chocolate before the fireplace in winter
- Coke, mixed with soda, not in a bottle (cherry, lemon or chocolate flavored)
- Ice cream sodas at the drug store counter
- Coffee in the morning to wake one up
- Coffee in the evening to keep awake while studying
- Beer – introduced at college parties
- Champaign drunk at weddings
- Red wine with pizza on Friday nights
- Liquor served at parties after the children were all in school (scotch, vodka, whiskey)
- Milk now in cartons
- Decafe coffee, hopefully to help one’s heart
- Wine served at all times by everyone
- Bottled water, Wonder if Abe had his bottle on his long walk to school?
- Ensure, a tasty, nutritious supplement
- Liquid from a plastic pouch hanging above your bed

Oooh . . . the truth hurts! I enjoyed your list, and was reminded how much I did love ice cream sodas at the drug store counter and what happened to them??!! Every once in a while, I will make one for myself, but it's not quite the same as sitting at the drug store counter with a friend and savoring that wonderful combination of flavors. Thanks for the memories.

Each of these brought back memories. Many could become life stories. But, I howled in horror when I reached #17, and as I visualized #18!
