HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, EVERYONE

July4a

[At The Elder Storytelling Place today, no story - instead, a short celebration.]

I wish the morons that keep us up all night with home fireworks had even a clue what they are "celebrating". It is a day to remember, not a day to see how much money you can send up in smoke and noise. Sadly, this is a holiday I look forward to being over.
Hope it is quiet and serene where you are.

It's not quiet and serene where I am Ron, sorry to say. I suspect we'll hear the sound of fireworks into the wee hours of the morning and on and off for the duration of summer.
However, I do remember a time when the 4th of July meant going to a baseball game, eating hot dogs, watching a fireworks display and singing the National Anthem. I was filled with gratitude and pride to be an American. Sadly, someone stole that feeling from me in 2000.
Enjoyed the "short celebration"... Thanks Ronni...

Here is a simple solution...

Just put in some ear plugs, pull up the covers and let the rest of us celebrate the birth of our Nation.
