The Day After Thanksgiving 2012
I hope everyone had a fulfilling (pardon the pun) Thanksgiving holiday and if you are so inclined, find all the bargains you need today, Black Friday. Me? I'm staying as far away from stores as possible.
I'll be back online tomorrow with a real blog post: a new Interesting Stuff column.
Stories will return to The Elder Storytelling Place on Monday 26 November

The Small Business Administration is encouraging us to 'shop small' by shopping at small businesses in our communities. Great idea.

Because I can't get out to shop I am not tempted. However, I did ask my granddaughters to send wish lists. Getting the list from the youngest convinced me that I am waaaay too old and behind the times. She sent a list of geek stuff. I would never have thought of that in a zillion years.

Thank you Ronni. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and are relaxing and enjoying this day after. I have not been shopping on Black Friday for about 3-4 years now and am happy to have a good reason to stay away from the stores. I too try to support more small, local independent businesses, which I plan to do next Thursday when I have the opportunity.

If you have ever worked retail on Black Friday (even before it was simply called "The day after Thanksgiving", you will not be tempted to shop on that day ever again.

Correction...that was supposed to read "Even WHEN it was simply called 'The day after Thanksgiving'....
