Ronni - I agree with those who say you should publish this as a facsimile. It is charming. I don't think you should limit yourself to self publishing either.
On that angle however don't forget Lulu - the one book I have bought from them is fine.

I love fairy tales and the fact that you have kept this fairy tale with you all these years and that it survived for 80 years is indeed a fairy tale in itself.
I can't wait until you print all of it here so I can read it to my little grandchildren.
Lovely illustrations make a fairy tale live.
