The Very Same Problems
By Arlene Corwin
I saw my favorite actress
And was reassured.
Never more an ingénue,
A femme fatale, a dancing star.
Inside myself I cheered — and cheer;
She’s had to make the same fine tunings
As we all do:
Thinning hair where light shines through,
Facial hair mustachioed,
Humility in place of ego:
Adaptation here we go!
To bend is not to break.

Only a few actresses are so honest -- reason enough to be a favorite. Let us tr to bend and not break.
