Ollie the Cat Wakeup Video
Saturday, 15 December 2007
I really, really wanted to sleep in this morning. I was up late reading last night, I have a lot I want to get done today so I intended to be completely refreshed from a full night's sleep.
Ollie the cat had a different idea at 5:15AM and there is no ignoring him when he's on a wakeup mission. Browsing email with coffee 15 minutes later, I discovered this video sent by Melinda Applegate. I've seen it before and lost track of where it was. I've now discovered that it's been viewed on YouTube nearly three million times, so you've probably seen it.
But it makes me laugh every time and it duplicates Ollie the cat's wakeup procedure to a tee. (Do they all learn this in the womb?) So I thought you might enjoy it again too, and now it's where I can always find it. Enjoy.
lol You're right!!! All our cats were like that when I was married.

I love that. Just two days ago, I was poked in the butt twice by a cat intent on waking me up!

The person who created this certainly owned a cat -- er, the cat owned him.
This is a classic as I have seen it on two different blogs; this makes three. Too funny!

A classic indeed! My last cat, Lyon, died two years ago. Time for a new cat? I get up at 4:00 a.m. anyway, and I miss those friendly greetings.

Ours, too. I can put them out to get a bit more sleep, but it requires getting up, so unless it's REALLY early, I don't bother.

TOO FUNNY AND MY HUSBAND EVEN CAME AND WATCHED IT AND GAVE ME HIS VERSION OF THE "MEOW" MIX CHORUS....see that is what you do when you are old - broke - retired!!!

Totally cracks me up every time I see it (this must be about the 15th). As someone somewhere once said, "there's no snooze alarm on a cat that wants breakfast". :)

Mom and I have seen this on several posts and one of the relatives sent it via e-mail. We have three elder cats (12, 17, and 17) who are our alarm clocks. They always wake us up between 4:31 and 5:30. Every evening one has to curl with each one of us at least 3 times. We have to pet them all each time we go up or down the stairs. No way to get out of it since they all line up on the stairs at the slightest hint we are going to use them. One of the older ones begs for table scraps as though he were a dog. We often wonder if they are using our computers to consult with their fellow feline on the best techniques to train their humans.

That is hilarious. My husband said he's always suspected as much!

This is a perfect description of our wonderful friends - cats! I posted it in October when I saw it at Ambivablog!

This is a hoot and oh, so true! I'd seen it before, but it was definitely worth another laugh.
My cats do the same exact thing. Luckily, not every morning, for some reason. I actually got to sleep in till 7:30 today. What amazes me is, the 2 dogs sleep away so nice...it's the cats that wake me!

Bwahahaha! I have never seen it before, and when I could have a kitty as a pet - pre allergies - none were quite this persistent.
Luckily, Morris the Siamese, never learned how to wield a bat...

Yes, it's a good one. I love how the cat marching in place with claws has been captured. Very funny!

Yes, I like this one. One of my cats pulls my hair with his teeth and pokes me with his paw on Sunday mornings when I try to have a lie-in. They don't like it when their breakfast is late.

I've seen this before Ronni....it's just too funny...and cute. My friend says it is ALL true....

Priceless!! This is my first time to view, and I howled out loud. I guess they must learn it in the womb--every cat I know comes hardwired with the basics, and then chooses add-ons to suit their own individual taste :)
Did you know that kitten fetuses can change sex in the womb? Weird, but true, according to a college biology text I once read. Supposedly, a cat that can arch its back like the trademark Halloween cat (can cats register trademarks? I wouldn't be surprised) has undergone a change from male to female in the womb. That's (again supposedly) why these cats were always portrayed as a witch's familiar.

LOL! I hadn't seen this one before. Thanks for sharing it -- I appreciate the laugh.
