Happy Hannukah 5772

Hanukkah began last evening. It's not that I do much about being Jewish but if nothing else, I enjoy the candles for eight nights. And I like the story.

Not to mix the holidays (oh go ahead, Ronni, mix 'em up) here's a wonderful Christmas video of an elder flash mob in Lawrence, Kansas, singing along with Last Christmas by the cast of Glee. Gotta love it. (My apologies - I've forgotten who sent this to me and have deleted the email.)

At The Elder Storytelling Place today, Marcy Belson: The Neighborhood Christmas Party

Last evening on PBS, they featured a new program call "Lidia Celebrates America". It was so uplifting & I guess "folksy," & we loved it. Lidia Bastianich featured my Christmas eve with an Italian Seven Fishes meal. (I only do 3 or 4 nowdays) And then there was a Mexican celebration in San Antonia, Chinese New Year in San Francisco & finally Hanukkah in the Bronx. Since I'm never too old to learn, I really learned more about Hanukkah while appreciating all the cultures featured in the program. If you missed it, I'm sure it'll be repeated. Dee

Happy Hannukah to you! We join friends to light the candles on Friday.

Happy Hanukkah to you too.

Happy Hanukkah, Ronni, Crabby and Ollie!!!!!

My mom's BFF lives in Lawrence, Kansas. I expect to see her in this!

Mix 'em up, indeed! Happy Hanukkah... Merry Christmas... It's a time for peace and joy!

HAPPY HANUKKAH to you, Ronni and to Ollie and Crabby.

My wish for you is that you have a wonderful holiday with your family and pets and that you enjoy a Happy and Healthy New Years....

Happy Hanukkah, Ronni.

The flash dance was cool and shows there's life in we elders yet.

Happy Hannukah to you Ronnie, and Ollie and your alter ego. And all the best to you in the coming year. i have so enjoyed this blog since finding my way to it a couple of months ago. It has been such a saving grace in my days of caregiving for my 92 year old mother-in-law. The flash dance was charming. It left me weeping, but I needed the purge today.

Happy Hannukah! I too loved "Lidia Celebrates America" last night on PBS, even though we're above the border in Canada. Our traditional Christmas meal pays homage to my family's Native and Texas/Mex roots with tamales, enchiladas, carne adovada, rice, mole poblano, black turtle beans, tortillas and guacamole. I grew homesick watching the Cortez familia, seeing La Posada and remembering the pinatas of my childhood. But the memories of family members long gone live on in the food on the table on Christmas Day. May this be a season of blessed memories and love around your table Ronni, and all of you, whose cyber company I enjoy on a daily basis.

I LOVE You, Ronni! I really LOVE You!!! for finding these things and sharing!!! I just adore the platform for these Elders to enjoy themselves. Would like to see more of it!!
Happy Hannukah!!! and Merry Christmas!!! and most of all, Peace on Earth.

Happy Hanukkah to you, Ollie and COL! I really enjoy your posts and look forward to reading them. Where you find all the great information you share with the rest of us, I do not know but I'm so glad you do (know where it is and share it)!

It was me...
Who sent it to you...
Happy Hanukkah!

Happy Hanukkah Ronni, Ollie, and especially Crabby! And may your new year be grand.

Happy Hanukkah to all three of you and bless you for all your contributions to the celebration of life all year round. May 2012 be very good to you and may it bring many smiles, much laughter and much satisfaction.

Happy Hanukkah!

Tuesday our local online "newspaper" had an article that started out stating that it was the first day of Hanukkah for those who celebrate it.

I couldn't resist commenting that it was the first day of Hanukkah whether you celebrated it or not.

They have not responded.

Crabby Old Lady is influencing me!
