PEW'S 18 REMARKABLE FINDINGS OF 2018

Pew Research Center named 18 “remarkable” findings of 2018. One of them is about how younger people are better at telling the difference between factual statements and opinion statements. Take a look:

FactVOpinionPew

Well, I don't think there is that much difference between the two age groups. Neither one is all that good at it.

There are a bunch of other Pew 2018 findings at their website.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF CHEESE

My two favorite foods are cheese and ice cream. I had no idea that cheese making is thousands of years old:

Terrific posts today, with plenty of adorable critters like the bear scooting on the ice to the purring kitty whom I want to cuddle with(ok, so I'll try to find a recording of this purrrr, seems like a good way to fall/stay asleep, to marveling at Lin-Manuel and his limitless talents.

Throwing in some interesting articles and this time you get a 10 of 10 for Interesting Stuff today.

Thank you, right now this is very much appreciated and needed!

It's easy to confuse being able to tell a factual from an opinion statement with being able to tell truth from falsehood. It would be interesting to see those statistics (being able to detect falsehoods from truth.)

I've always marveled at the symmetry in NYT crosswords. Now I know how it's done!

The bear is so adorable. Entertaining himself with something as simple as twigs. And the purring kitty is like music to the ears of a cat lover like myself. Of course, I have my own live-in musician ...

I watch Nicole on MSNBC everyday. She has the best most intelligent panelists of all. I saw this piece and it is stunning.
I feel so sad anymore knowing people still support trump after all that is out there now...all he has done to hurt people and our country. It is depressing.

Love the purring kitty and the bear.

I just played the car purr for Morty the cat. He sniffed the laptop -- then concluded there was no animal smell I think. :-)

Outstanding assortment! Makes for an entertaining Saturday morning. Lin Manuel Miranda is truly terrific.

What an entertaining group of offerings today. I enjoyed them all, but the bear on ice makes me want a big teddy bear to hug at night and that would put me to sleep.

Without hearing, the cat purr would be wasted on me.

Cheese making is an ancient art ... but so is ice cream!

From what I understand, it was quite popular in ancient Rome, and it was enjoyed long before that in the Middle East and is still made there with one of the truly ancient recipes.

I currently don't have the articles that I found on the ancient ice cream, but I'm sure you can find it with a search on the Internet as I did. It's fascinating!
